Jungmin Pyo, Ph.D., is a visiting scholar with the Center for Family Policy and Research (CFPR) and collaborates with Dr. Shinyoung Jeon’s Bridges in ECE: Partnerships & Data (B-PAD) Lab. He is also an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education at Gwangju University in South Korea.

At CFPR, he contributes to a systematic review on parent–teacher communication and family–program partnerships in early childhood education, including literature screening and the development of future studies informed by gaps identified in the review. He also collaborates on early childhood research projects related to family engagement and children’s everyday interactions in early childhood settings, contributing conceptual and methodological perspectives to ongoing studies. His broader collaborative work at CFPR explores the assessment of creativity across cultural contexts, the relationship between artificial intelligence and creativity, and technology-supported approaches to understanding young children’s emotional and social experiences. He is particularly interested in using facial expression analysis and observational methods to examine emotional processes and interactions between young children and teachers in naturalistic early childhood settings.
